SPORTS – Vysoké Tatry, Tatranská Lomnica

Great skiing in Lomnické sedlo and new broad slopes from Skalnaté Pleso down to Tatranska Lomnica are a guarantee of the best skiing on the sunny side of the High Tatras thanks to a new snowmaking system and a new six-seats lift Tatranska Lomnica – Start. This center is just 400 meters away from our pension.
Directly behind our pension there is a lift for beginners and ski school, where you can test our skis from our ski rentals.

Hiking and mountaineering:

They are certainly the most popular activities in this area. A wide range of modes of transport will facilitate access to basic location for your hiking trails. The whole area of the  Tatras is interlaced with tourist trails. At an altitude of about around 2000 m. you can find cottages, where you can sleep if you go to any of the longer and more challenging hikes or choose to overcome some of the highlights.These cottages will be happy to prepare different types of meals so you do not carry large stocks of food. In the list of tours you can find many light hiking trails, challenging trails, but also plenty of climbing opportunities.
The mountain guides offer guide services in challenging terrains.

Skating:

During the winter months you can find in Tatranská Lomnica natural ice rink with rental skates.
Tennis: Tennis Hall offers the opportunity to play tennis at any time throughout the year. In summer you can use the outdoor tennis courts.
Golf: Around 3 km from Tatranska Lomnica there is a favorite golf course Black Stork.

Cycling:

Tatras roads, sidewalks and paved forest roads offer many great trails for demanding mountain bikers, but also lovers of „experience“ of cycling. Adrenaline cyclists find a new downhill route in Hrebienok.
Other sporting options: soccer, volleyball, mini golf, billiards …

EXPERIENCE:

The output cable car to Lomnický štít, one of the highest peaks in the Carpathians with altitude of 2633 m, is memorable attraction.
There are other attractions for lovers of adrenaline adventures nearby (Tatranská Kotlina, Strbske Pleso) as rope „spider“ routes and in the neighborhood of our hotel is a summer bobsled. Riding downhill on modern scooters (2.6 km long) leads from the Start, intermediate relay cableway to Skalnaté pleso, down to Tatranska Lomnica to the valley station of the cabin lift.
An unique offer is to float on a raft wonderful breakthrough of Dunajec in near Pieniny.

Nature

The biggest and most beautiful „live“ exposure of Tatra flora and fauna are valleys, but you can visit the exposure of the Tatras nature – a botanical garden, presenting most of the wild plants and flowers growing in the Tatras area and  the Museum of the Tatra National Park with a permanent and cyclical exhibitions. A new possibility of direct contact with the Tatra nature is a nature trail springs in rare territory eponymous National Nature Reserve Tatra National Park.
The trail is part of nearly 3.5 kilometers walking circuit that starts at the Botanical Garden in Tatranska Lomnica. It is possible to walk that easy trail for two hours by peacefull walk.

THERMAL SPA and wellness:

Within a radius of 15-50 km from Tatranska Lomnica you can find some excellent natural thermal pools and water parks, directly in Tatranska Lomnica are several wellness centers with a wide range of services.

ARCHITECTURE AND HISTORY:

In the region below the Tatras you can wander in the footsteps of fascinating history and discover the beauty hidden in the bowels of Belianska jaskyňa (Belianska cave). It is worth to visit a few historical interesting points, eg. Spišská Sobota near Poprad, where the reconstructed square is decorated by Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque burgher houses and also it is worth to see the church of St.George (originally Late romanesque, in the year 1464 was rebuilt in Gothic), where we admire late Gothic wing altars and main altar from 1516 made by Master Paul of Levoča or the town Levoča with its famous Gothic altar in the church of St.. Jakub (the altar is made of linden wood in the workshop of Master Pavol in the 16th century.) or Kežmarok its town castle, medieval castle ruins of Spiš castle included in the UNESCO, Spišská Kapitula, but also a close village Ždiar with its beautiful painted wooden houses and many other castles and monasteries.
